October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Mionetto : Pink Cork for the Cause

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The football players are all wearing pink gloves, the Race for the Cure has 1.3 million people running for research funding and now in it’s second year, Mionetto is holding it’s “Pink Cork for the Cause”.

Much like Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket, finding a pink cork in a bottle of delicious Mionetto Prestige Prosecco Brut or Mionetto Gran Rosé will win you a pink hand mixer, enter you into a drawing to donate $10,000 to your breast cancer charity of choice and pop the cork on some seriously amazing bubbles. So really, it’s a win all around!

This year, Mionetto has also partnered with Master Chocolatier Christophe Toury, of Voila Chocolat, to create the perfect chocolate and Prosecco pairing. The limited edition Speculoos truffle is a like a european spiced gingerbread and is dipped in pink-colored white chocolate. A portion of each pairing box ($25 for 9 pieces) will be donated to breast cancer charities. Be sure to grab a box and a bottle to taste how the Prosecco pairs beautifully with the delicately spiced truffle.

Every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. One in every eight women in the United States will be affected by this disease in her lifetime. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, death rates have been declining in recent decades, in part due to better screening, increased awareness and improving treatment options.

Let’s do everything that we can to keep fighting the fight against breast cancer… so go out, grab some chocolate, some Mionetto Prestige Prosecco Brut or Mionetto Gran Rosé and pop a cork to keep fighting!
