The new year has started with a bang. In the same day I appeared on the Today Show in New York, then raced to the airport and flew back to San Francisco to accept an award for my show, Check Please! @ the Tasty Awards (link www.tastetv.com). Changing into black tie attire in the airplane was an experience, but so was sharing a glass with Debi Mazar of “Entourage” fame who was also a presenter that night.

In my latest Epicurious column, I wrote about delicious Chilean values. I spent a week there in December and must admit, I’m still impressed even after four trips to the southern hemisphere nation. There are innovative producers, interesting trends, and hot new areas to check out.
